Freelance Medical Proofreader
Job Summary
Brella Productions, a new-media production company, is seeking a freelance Medical Proofreader to start immediately.
There is currently a temporary opening for an experienced Freelance Medical Proofreader to join our team on-site at a client’s suburban North Chicago, IL location (near Gurnee, IL). The medical proofreader’s role will be to proof high quality educational & marketing materials that communicate information about the client’s research and products to both medical and consumer audiences. The proofer must be skilled in medical writing, proofreading, research, referencing/annotating, and have American Medical Association Styleguide expertise.
Job Description
- Execute medical proofreading and writing activities for projects in accordance with applicable U.S. and international regulatory regulations and requirements under the supervision of the Agency Manager.
- Assume primary responsibility for proofreading of regulatory response documents and documents supporting major regulatory submissions, under the direction of the manager.
- Proofread documents for submission to FDA or other regulatory agencies, in accordance with team input, with oversight from the manager.
- Provide review and substantive editing of contributions from external contract writers.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science, health profession, or journalism.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience writing for pharmaceutical, biotechnology or equivalent experience (e.g. academia or scientific publications).
- Advanced degree in science, health profession, or journalism is preferred.
- Basic understanding of scientific methodology, with ability to understand clinical development, including the phases, processes, and techniques used within a clinical development environment from protocol design through regulatory submission.
- Able to understand FDA/international regulations, ICH guidelines, and applicable U.S./international regulatory processes related to document preparation and production (including CTDs).
- Able to understand guidelines and requirements related to the preparation and production of regulatory documents and submissions.
- Demonstrate problem-solving and interpersonal skills that facilitate effective interactions within cross-functional teams and with external providers.
- Able to identify issues and generate solutions or request appropriate intervention by management.
- Able to drive to or commute via Metra to the client site in North Chicago, IL
Compensation

Job Description
- The hours for this job are Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM – On Location Near Gurnee, IL
- This is a Freelance assignment that can last for a single day or up to several months
- Work with in-house account managers, project managers and clients to translate script content and design concepts into graphics for a variety of print applications.
- Be able to work on tedious repetitive elements one week and very complex fun elements the next.
- Ability to multitask and deal well with a busy production environment
- Ability to create a variety of designs to suit the style and needs of the client within a specific Brand
- Work within existing project management and QA structures to ensure clean workflow (and to be kind to your fellow designers, testers and project managers).
- Ability (and desire) to continue acquiring new design skills
Skills
- Must be proficient in all Adobe design software, a good knowledge of InDesign required

Brella Productions, a new-media production company located in Evanston, is seeking a full time Video/Multimedia Junior Project Manager with medical or pharmaceutical experience to start immediately and work with our team in Evanston. The right candidate will find the work here interesting, varied, and with plenty of room for technical and creative experimentation.
Our Project Manager must have either Video Production and /or Multimedia/Web experience or a degree in these areas. The ideal candidate will have both.
For this position we also require work experience in the Pharmaceutical or Medical field. Medical writing experience is a plus, but not required.

We are looking for someone who has Web Based Training or Computer Based Training experience as both a programmer and a project manager. The ideal candidate should enjoy both programming / project management and is upbeat, motivated, and ready to work in a productive yet friendly workplace.
KEY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pre Production Phase
- Work with Account Managers, Creative Directors& clients to document project requirements
- Develop and maintain project schedules & resource requirements

Production/Development Phase
- Coordinate production of graphics with internal resources

KEY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
